Anti-corruption work is an important component of Kozybayev University’s activities. We were one of the first, among higher educational institutions of the country, to join the League of Academic Integrity of the Republic of Kazakhstan. For more than 6 years, the university has had a project office "SanalyUrpaq", where a pool of anti-corruption activists from a number of students has been formed. An elective course "Fundamentals of Anti-Corruption Culture" has also been introduced. Events to prevent occurrences of corruption are held regularly.
Thus, as part of the republican campaign "The Hour of Integrity", students were introduced to the basics of anti-corruption legislation, the volunteering in this sphere, the system of measures to combat corruption, etc. The speakers included representatives of the anti-corruption service, compliance, anti-corruption volunteers, and lawyers.
"Each region is working to identify, suppress, and prevent anti-corruption offenses. This is how agencies work in synergy. The main focus of our work is prevention. Why is it so important? Because it is much harder to deal with the consequences," noted Ekaterina Aubakirova, an officer of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Combating Corruption in the North Kazakhstan Region.
The event also discussed the education of the younger generation in the spirit of honesty and integrity. There were discussions about the youth’s role in actively combating corruption.
