Victories of students in republican Olympiads

Joyful news from the academic fields! As you know, intelligent and gifted students of our country compete in knowledge at the Republican Olympiads. They are held in all subjects on the basis of various universities. The first swallows who brought awards from such intellectual competitions were the students of the departments of "Geography and Ecology" and "Russian Language and Literature". Both teams got "bronze"!

Madina Asyltasova, Valeria Grabovskaya, Elizaveta Radchenko took the third place in the Republican Subject Olympiad on Russian language and literature in Ust-Kamenogorsk city. The girls were awarded diplomas and, what is especially pleasant to participants, a certificate for 35 thousand tenge! The scientific supervisor of the team is senior lecturer S.S. Agibaeva. In addition, in the individual championship second was Valeria Grabovskaya. And Madina Asyltasova won in the nomination "Knowledge of Russian language grammar". Clever girls!

And that's not all the good news!

The XVI Republican Subject Olympiad in Geography was held in Abay KazNPU (Almaty). Our children took two third places at once in the natural-science and educational areas!

Two teams were represented:

"Kyzylzhar" (natural science direction) - Aigerim Akhmetova, Anastasia Ilyushina, Amangeldi Sukar. "Everest" (educational direction) - Adiya Turgunova, Damir Zeinolla.

It is especially cool that their first experience of participation in the Republican Olympiad was immediately crowned with a prize! And this among more than 30 teams! Besides diplomas they received prize gadgets and memorable souvenirs of the university-organiser of the Olympiad. G.Z. Mazhitova, a senior lecturer of the Department of Geography and Ecology, became the scientific supervisor of both teams.

The guys said that the Olympiad programme consisted of several rounds from theoretical testing to practical tasks and even the defence of a scientific project. In our case it was devoted to the topic of creating a green campus of Kozybayev University using GIS-technologies and remote sensing. Congratulations on such high achievements of students and their teachers! We wish not to stop at what has been achieved and to conquer new heights!
