Co-operation with the Republic of Poland is an important element in the development of international relations of our university, providing students and teachers with unique opportunities for professional growth and cultural exchange. The head of the diplomatic mission of the Republic of Poland in Kazakhstan Michał Labenda visited Kozybayev University on a working visit. He met with the management of the university, gave a lecture for students and familiarised himself with the laboratories of ULC.
The partnership was launched in 2019, when 40 agronomy students completed a six-month professional internship at Agros in Inowrocław. In the same direction, co-operation with the Polish company Green Groups is underway. As a result, during this period 116 students of Kozybayev University have been on paid industrial practice in Poland. During its passage, students not only acquired practical skills at agribusinesses, but also gained valuable experience with modern agricultural technologies and farming methods, which allowed them to expand their competencies and increase their competitiveness in the labour market. In addition, three of our teachers completed professional internships at Polish agribusinesses. A co-operation agreement was also signed with one of Poland's leading universities, the Warsaw University of Life Sciences. This partnership opens up significant prospects for academic mobility for our students. The opening of joint double-diploma programmes is under discussion.
During the visit the head of the diplomatic mission Michal Labenda proposed to include Polish language in the educational programme of North Kazakhstan students-philologists as a speciality, to open Polish centre on the basis of the university and to continue cooperation in the line of organization of practical training and academic mobility of students.
"For me, co-operation between our universities is one of the most important topics. I am very glad that Polish business entities and universities are co-operating with SKU named after M. Kozybaev. The fact that the University of Natural Sciences of Warsaw will develop dual degree programmes with you is a very positive decision. This is something that really brings us closer together. I hope that all plans will be fulfilled. The Polish Embassy will provide all possible support", - assured Michail Labenda.
