Kozybaev Readings-2024

The Kozybaev Readings, a great landmark event, has already become a trademark of our university in the scientific community. Every year, scientists from different countries come here to honour the memory of the great Kazakhstani historian Manash Kozybayev and present the results of their research. Such collaboration of scientists, teachers, public figures and students allows Kozybayev University to be a promising dialogue platform for discussing new scientific ideas.

This year's International Conference "Kozybayev Readings 2024: Kazakhstan and Modern Challenges of Time" received over 230 reports. The conference was attended by colleagues from Kazakhstan, Turkey, Poland, Russia and Kyrgyzstan. Representatives of the Institute of History and Ethnology named after Sh. Sh. Ualikhanov Institute of History and Ethnology, the Central State Archive of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and other organisations.

The guests of honour were Deputy Akim of SKO Zhusup Zhumagulov, as well as our respected ex-rectors Undasyn Ashimov and Serik Omirbaev. Traditionally, M. Kozybaev's family members also came to the event.

We heartily rejoice at its successes, the expansion of its material and technical base, the increase in its recognisability not only in the republic, but also in the world. That graduates of Kozybayev University find their place in life. And this is the most important thing! I would like to wish the staff of the university new successes", - congratulated the son of M. Kozybayev, Honoured Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Professor of ENU named after L.N. Gumilev Ilyas Kozybayev.

Let's remind, North Kazakhstan University proudly bears the name of academician Manash Kozybaev since 2003. Manash Kabashevich was the keeper of historical scientific thought of Kazakhstan. His deep and inquisitive mind is known to all who were professionally engaged in science. Academician Kozybaev's researches, his civil position played a significant role in the formation of the new statehood, he can be rightfully referred to the cohort of outstanding scientists of the country.

"Manash Kozybayev has always remained on principled positions: to restore the historical truth, to consider any events and processes from the position of objectivity, that is, without bending and falsification to please the political conjuncture. He made a huge contribution to the formation of the ideology of independent Kazakhstan. Today's conference is not only an opportunity to pay tribute to the memory of the outstanding scientist, but also to continue his work, to enrich it with new researches and discoveries. This is what we owe to the memory of M.K. Kozybayev," said the President of Kazakhstan. Kozybaev", - said the Chairman of the Board - Rector Yerbol Isakaev.

At the plenary session were presented reports on the history of Kazakhstan, historical and geographical aspect of Northern Kazakhstan, genre of personal history, heritage of M. Kozybaev and others.

Congratulatory addresses on behalf of the Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek and Akim of SKO Gauyez Nurmukhambetov were sent to the participants of the event.

The ceremony of awarding the scientists who made a significant contribution to the development of our university was also held. The title "Honorary Professor of SCU named after M. Kozybaev" was awarded to Amanzhol Kuzembayuly, Doctor of Science, Professor of KRU named after Akhmet Baytursynuly and Tlegen Sadykov, Doctor of Science, Professor of ENU named after L.N. Gumilev. "Medal of Academician Manash Kozybaev" was awarded to Orhan Soylemez, Professor of Kastamonu University (Turkey), and Undasyn Ashimov, Ph.

In addition, on the eve of the conference, more than 50 students took part in an essay competition dedicated to the creative heritage of M. Kozybaev and attracting attention to the in-depth study of the history of Kazakhstan. At the event there was a solemn awarding of diplomas and money prizes to the winners and prize-winners - 6 people in total. The best was Saltanat Kospanova, she received 150 thousand tenge.

In the afternoon the participants got acquainted with the laboratory complex of ULK, the new modern Student House with 1200 seats, as well as attended a plastic performance of the theatre of deaf dancers "Sensitive", the director and part of the artists of which are our students.

The work of the conference continued in breakout sessions in 8 scientific directions.
