A group of 12 undergraduate and 10 master's students from China completed their studies and internships at Kozybayev University. Arriving in August as part of an academic exchange program, they came from the College of Animal Husbandry and Technology at Northwest A&F University (NWAFU) in China.
Over three months, the students attended specialized courses in English, gaining both theoretical and practical knowledge in livestock science. Their training included visits to feed and dairy factories, the North Kazakhstan Agricultural Experiment Station in Shagaly, and various farms and agribusinesses in the Akkayynsky, Tayynshinsky, and Kyzylzharsky districts.
They also participated in scientific seminars, guest lectures by international professors, and international conferences.
"We studied the fundamentals of animal husbandry, animal genetics, and scientific research methods. I also got to experience Kazakh culture, history, language, and cuisine. Everything was very different for me, but I have only the best impressions," shared master's student Zhan Zipeng from China.
At the certificate ceremony, Mansur Alimkhanov, Board Member for Internationalization and Global Programs, highlighted the significance of this exchange:
"Your stay here was not just an educational journey but also a contribution to strengthening international cooperation between Kazakhstan and China. Our country actively supports the Belt and Road Initiative, and your participation exemplifies its success. Over the past three months, you studied under the ‘Livestock Production Technology’ program, exchanging valuable knowledge and experiences with our students and faculty."
Kozybayev University has been collaborating with NWAFU since 2017. More than 60 Chinese students have studied at the university, while 10 Kazakhstani students traveled to China last year. A new group of students from Kozybayev University is set to continue this exchange in the upcoming semester.
