Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan, Nurlan Abdirov, Visits Kozybayev University

As part of his inspection trip to the North Kazakhstan region, the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nurlan Abdirov, met with students of Kozybayev University. The visit took place in preparation for the upcoming elections of maslikhat deputies to replace those who resigned, scheduled for December 8 this year.

During the meeting with young voters, the head of the CEC spoke about the features of Kazakhstan’s updated electoral system in the context of the 2022 constitutional reform, current trends, international experience in this field, and the role of the CEC in monitoring elections and referendums abroad.

“The most important task of the Central Election Commission is to ensure free, democratic, and fair elections. This principle is enshrined in the constitutions of nearly all countries, each with its own practice,” noted Nurlan Abdirov. The students engaged in lively discussions on election-related topics and actively participated in an online survey on pressing electoral issues.
