Ruslan Emelbayev Introduces High School Students to Dual Degree Programs

Advisor to the Minister of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan, Ruslan Emelbayev, visited Kozybayev University. During his visit, he toured the scientific research laboratories of the ULK and the newly built student dormitory for 1,200 residents. He also participated in a career guidance meeting with students of the Abu Dosmukhambetov Regional Specialized Boarding Gymnasium for Gifted Children, alongside specialists from the Kozybayev University Admissions and Recruitment Office.

"One of the main goals of my visit to the North Kazakhstan region is to meet with high school students. Career guidance is a pressing issue today. Even our President, in his Address to the Nation, emphasized that applicants should make a conscious choice about their future profession. To improve the quality of education, one of the key initiatives of the Ministry has been opening branches of foreign universities in Kazakhstan. The launch of dual degree programs has created great opportunities for prospective students. We provided detailed information about these programs to the students," said Ruslan Emelbayev.

Kozybayev University was the first in Kazakhstan to initiate a collaboration with the University of Arizona to implement dual degree programs. Currently, these programs are offered in three fields: Biotechnology, Information Systems, and Inclusive Education. The 11th-grade students showed keen interest in the admission requirements, the process of taking the English proficiency exam, and the structure of the educational program. They highly appreciated the opportunity to receive a quality international education at homeland with full scholarships.
