A memorandum of cooperation was signed between Kozybayev University and the Department of Emergency Situations (DES) of the North Kazakhstan Region of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan. As part of this partnership, students will have the opportunity to participate in training sessions, courses, and practical activities under the guidance of DES professionals. Special attention will be given to the preparation of students who are proficient in foreign languages, enabling them to work as translators and assistants to rescuers during emergency situations when rapid communication with foreign nationals is required. Additionally, joint events such as drills, seminars, and conferences will be organized, allowing students to not only gain valuable knowledge but also acquire practical skills in interacting within crisis situations. This invaluable experience will be beneficial for their future careers, regardless of their professional paths.
"This document is not just a formality, but a real step towards strengthening cooperation between the university and the region's emergency services. In today's reality, safety issues are becoming increasingly relevant, and it is important not only to respond to emergencies but also to prevent them. Our collaboration aims to achieve this goal – preparing students, future specialists, to act in emergency situations, developing their professional and practical skills, and promoting safety culture in society," said acting Chairman of the Board and Rector, Mansur Alimkhanov.
The Deputy Head of the Department of Emergency Situations of the North Kazakhstan Region, Lieutenant Colonel Murat Kanguzhinov, addressed the students present at the meeting: «Currently, active flooding is beginning across the entire territory of Kazakhstan, followed by the fire hazard period, the swimming season, and then the winter period, when frostbite and snowdrifts are possible. In this regard, we have many examples where children and students, left alone to face the elements, were able to apply the knowledge they gained about actions in emergency situations and saved themselves or others. The employees of the Department of Emergency Situations are ready to provide full theoretical and practical assistance. And perhaps tomorrow, your actions will also save someone's life».
