A historic event! For the first time in Kazakhstan, a branded bus with a university team is embarking on a career guidance tour across the southern regions of the country. The Serpin Way caravan will travel more than 6,500 kilometers, visiting around 30 locations, including major cities, towns, and rural settlements. Kozybayev University has developed a special route to ensure that as many school students as possible in the Zhambyl, Turkestan, and Kyzylorda regions receive comprehensive information about the educational opportunities available at the northernmost university in the country. The delegation includes not only university faculty and staff, but also students.
The mission of the career guidance team is to inform prospective students and their parents about the admission opportunities at Kozybayev University, available grants, more than 160 academic programs, and the university’s collaboration with the University of Arizona. Special emphasis is placed on the Serpin Programme, which, over the past ten years, has become a true social elevator for thousands of young people in Kazakhstan. The program provides youth from regions with a surplus labor force the opportunity to receive quality education and employment in areas experiencing a shortage of skilled professionals. The program also fosters interregional cooperation, promotes national identity, and contributes to the balanced development of all regions in the country.
Currently, 167 students are studying at Kozybayev University under the Serpin Programme, with 65 of them graduating this year. To support their employment, the university has implemented dual education and signed over 300 agreements with major regional employers. The university also established the «Serpin Qoldau» Support Center, which provides personalized assistance to students from the moment of enrollment until successful employment. Kozybayev University has gone even further, launching an initiative to provide dormitory accommodation not only for students but also for Serpin graduates during their first year after graduation — giving them time to resolve housing matters and adapt.
«A lot of positive changes have taken place at the university: the number of students from other regions has increased, new academic buildings and dormitories have been constructed, the material and technical base is improving, and international cooperation is expanding. Today, there are no young people who haven’t heard of Kozybayev University. The wide range of in-demand specialities enables Serpin graduates to find employment in the region. I wish the team heading to the southern regions of the country a safe and successful journey,»
— said Murat Abenov, Head of the Republican Serpin Office.
This career guidance tour is more than just a trip — it's an opportunity for young people from remote corners of the country to discover the vibrant campus life and educational prospects offered by Kozybayev University.
