Alexandra Petrova, a lecturer in the Department of Russian Language and Literature at Kozybayev University, has traveled to South Korea. She won a competition organized by the Gyeonggido Office of Education (Gyeonggi Province) and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan for native Russian-speaking teachers. During her year-long stay, she will be assisting in teaching Russian at Gunseo Future International School in the city of Siheung.
“I support Russian language teachers by preparing assignments, explaining pronunciation and vocabulary. In some classes, I teach Russian to native speakers, while a Korean teacher is in the same classroom teaching non-native speakers,” said Alexandra Petrova.
In total, four participants from Kazakhstan were selected for this program.
