They were bringing victory closer

The lesson of courage "They brought Victory closer", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, was held by the Department of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan for students of the Military Department. The event was dedicated to the exploits of the people of North Kazakhstan during the Great Patriotic War. Among the speakers are teachers and students of the Regional Specialized Boarding School for Gifted Children named after A. Dosmukhambetov, specialists of the Center for the Protection and Use of Historical and Cultural Heritage, the search movement "Search-Salang", as well as teachers, students and undergraduates of the university.

The main goal is to carefully preserve the memory of the heroic deed of our countrymen. It is known that more than 90,000 North Kazakhstanis were mobilized during the war. Every second of them did not return from the fronts. The title Hero of the Soviet Union was awarded to 55 participants in the battles, 11 were full holders of the Order of Glory of three degrees.

"Today, the focus of our event is on the participation of North Caucasians in the Great Patriotic War. This is a terrible war that has claimed a total of about 60 million lives. It became a severe test for all those who were subjected to aggression. Victory in this war was ensured by many factors: the restructuring of the economy in a military manner, national assistance to the front, and the mobilization of all resources for victory... But the most important thing, in my opinion, is the heroism, courage and dedication of the soldiers who fought on the war fronts," said Lyudmila Grivennaya, Head of the Department of the APK.

The event recalled the military path of the 314th Infantry Division, the feat of Abu Dosmukhambetov, discussed the issues of perpetuating the memory of WWII participants in the names of streets and monuments in Petropavlovsk, told about the living veterans of North Kazakhstan region, as well as expeditions of the search movement "Search-Salang" in the framework of the International Memorial Watch. In addition, the students got acquainted with the materials of the photo gallery and the exhibition of artifacts of the Great Patriotic War.
