A solemn event was held on the main square of the campus to commemorate the 33rd anniversary of the formation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Victory Day. These two significant holidays are united by the spirit of valor, courage, and patriotism. By celebrating them, we pay tribute to all those who have defended their homeland with arms in hand — and to those who stand today in defense of our country’s independence.
Participants of the ceremonial formation included students of Kozybayev University’s Military Training Department, cadets of the Academy of the National Guard, and students of the cadet class of Beskol School-College (Kyzylzhar district). Talented students delivered heartfelt patriotic performances for university veterans, faculty, and guests. A field kitchen was set up on the square for all attendees. Several faculty members and students were also awarded letters of appreciation and commendations.
Defender of the Fatherland Day is a symbol of honor, inner strength, and unwavering devotion to the homeland. It unites all those who have worn — and continue to wear — the military uniform, who protect the nation in peacetime, secure its borders, and safeguard the well-being of its citizens. Since its founding in 1998, the Military Training Department of Kozybayev University has trained more than 3,500 reserve officers and sergeants. The university has always placed strong emphasis on patriotic education and civic responsibility.
“May 7th gains special significance on the eve of another great date — May 9th, Victory Day. We pay tribute to the unparalleled heroism of Soviet soldiers, including thousands of Kazakhstani men and women who showed extraordinary courage both at the war front and the home front. Their self-sacrifice, bravery, and unity laid the foundation for our Victory, for peace and freedom for generations to come,”
– emphasized Chairman of the Executive Board – Rector, Yerbol Issakayev.
May 9th is a day of remembrance, pride, and gratitude. We honor the courage of those who fought in the war and those who supported the front through their labor in the rear. “We are the generation for whom millions of our grandfathers and great-grandfathers gave their lives. We — future defenders of the Fatherland — must always remember the price of the Great Victory,” – said participants of the event. Happy Victory Day! Happy Defender of the Fatherland Day! May peace and unity always be with us, and may the sky above remain clear!
