US Ambassador Daniel Rosenblum and Japanese Ambassador Yamada Jun visited Kozybayev University

Chairman of the Executive Board - Rector Yerbol Issakayev told the distinguished guests about the collaboration project with the University of Arizona. This is our country’s first successful case on strategic partnership with a foreign university. Today, about 1,000 students from all regions of Kazakhstan and beyond are studying in 16 double-degree and international programs. The next stage of cooperation is scientific research aimed at developing the region's agro-industrial complex.

"With the support of the US Department of Agriculture, we have begun implementing a grant research project on irrigation technology and water resources with scientists from the University of Arizona. We see great potential in this. A trilateral agreement has been concluded with the University of Arizona and the China’s Northwest A&F University on water studies. All this work will help strengthen the university's position in the international arena and improve the quality of educational programs. After all, the main goal is to transform our university into a research university fit for international standards,” noted Yerbol Issakaev.

Daniel Rosenblum expressed his support of the collaboration project with the University of Arizona. Also, the US Embassy, within the framework of the partnership program with universities, is ready to provide grant assistance to scientific projects of Kozybayev University. Another area of cooperation is Fulbright’s English Teaching Assistant (ETA) program. It’s thanks to this program that Jesse Dromski-Reed arrived at the university. She will be teaching classes during this academic year.

Then a meeting with students of double-degree programs took place. Let us remind you that next year the first cohort of students will go to Tucson for a semester of study on the main campus of the University of Arizona. The students asked questions about obtaining a visa, processing documents, and adapting to another country. The US Ambassador assured that they would be given comprehensive support in these matters.
