Matros Dmitry Shaevich was an outstanding scientist and educator who made a significant contribution to the development of mathematical analysis, informatics, and pedagogy. A graduate of Novosibirsk State University (NSU), he began his career as a lecturer at the Department of Mathematical Analysis on March 7, 1973, at our university.
In 1980, Matros D.Sh. defended his dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Economic Sciences. His scientific and teaching career continued: from 1984 to 1987, he headed the Department of Algebra and Geometry, and from 1987 to 1992, he led the Department of Mathematics.
In 1992, Matros D.Sh. became a Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences and headed the Department of Informatics. He actively participated in applied research, led contract-based projects for major city factories, implementing electronic computing machines (ECMs) in production.
Since the 1980s, his scientific interests focused on the use of mathematical methods in pedagogical research. Under his leadership, the interdisciplinary research laboratory "Optimization of the Educational Process" was established. Between 1985 and 1989, he published 24 works, leading to the successful defense of his doctoral dissertation on April 10, 1992, and his attainment of a Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences degree.
In 1994, Matros D.Sh. was invited to Chelyabinsk State Pedagogical University (ChGPU) as the Head of the Department. From September 1, 1997, he took the position of Dean of the Faculty of Informatics, and from 2008, he became the Vice-Rector for Information Technologies.
