On January 30, 2025, as part of the internal plan of the “Sanaly Urpak” Project Office, a monitoring of the conditions in the dormitories of M. Kozybayev North Kazakhstan University and the living conditions of the students was carried out.
The following participated in the monitoring: Compliance Academic Officer of the “Sanaly Urpak” Project Office, A.S. Balakhmetova, Executive Secretary of the “Bolashak” branch of the “AMANAT” party, A.V. Zel, Manager for Social Issues, G.A. Suyunova, Representative of the Youth Affairs Committee, A.A. Umaralieva
“We visited 4 dormitories: the students live in comfortable conditions, and we didn’t find any flaws. The dormitories have Wi-Fi, washing machines, showers, hot water, toilets, a library, automated fire alarm systems, security systems, video surveillance cameras, and everything is clean and neat,” shared A.V. Zel.
“Additionally, we surveyed the students. They say they are satisfied with their living conditions,” added G.A. Suyunova. All of the student dormitories are equipped with laundries, and students have access to washing machines, refrigerators, and kitchen areas. In other words, students have all the necessary conditions for cooking and food storage.
The monitoring also confirmed that the dormitories meet all the approved standards, with recommendations made for any improvements. Moreover, the lists of students residing in the dormitories were verified in accordance with the orders and protocols for the allocation of places. No residents were found who had moved in outside of the established procedure.
The monitoring goals included inspecting the dormitories, checking sanitary and technical standards, surveying the students about their living conditions, social-cultural facilities, and fire safety. According to the participants, the aim was not to penalize anyone, but rather to offer suggestions for improving student living conditions from a preventive perspective.
