The Polish company Green Groups is a well-known global producer of organic plant food: cruciferous vegetables, salad mixes and ready-to-eat meals. It has 7 production plants in Poland and abroad. For the second year students of Kozybayev University have been interning at them. During this time 76 people have visited the company's agro-formations. Practical training, flight and partly meals are free of charge. Plus, the field work of students is well paid by the employer. So, it is not only an opportunity to learn modern methods of cultivation of crops, to master high-tech equipment, but also a way to earn good money. The internship lasts for 6 months and is accompanied by lectures and visits to scientific laboratories of the Agricultural University in Krakow. In addition, students have the opportunity to go on cultural excursions and see the sights of Poland.
Adam Rozhitsky, Managing Director of Green Groups, visited our university. At the meeting with the management of Kozybayev University they discussed the stages of further co-operation.
"This is my first visit to Kazakhstan. I like it very much. Every year we improve the conditions of students' practice. I was once a student myself, studying in England, and I know that buying a ticket can have a serious impact on the budget. That is why we have made the flight for our trainees free of charge. We are also ready to provide more individual counselling for the students who come to us," said Adam Rozhytsky.
Also at the meeting, the Chairman of the Board - Rector Yerbol Isakaev voiced a number of initiatives for further joint work: to consider the possibility of assigning students-practitioners micro-qualification of vegetable grower on the basis of Green Group; with the support of the company to organise a specialised room equipped with training materials on vegetable production and modern agro-technologies. According to Altyn Shayakhmetova, Dean of the Faculty of Agrotechnology, this foreign internship allows future agronomists not only to acquire new agricultural skills and agricultural techniques in vegetable production, but also improves labour discipline, teamwork skills, and familiarises them with global standards of product production.
